Forward on Climate!

On February 17, join PSR and tens of thousands of other Americans in Washington, D.C. for the largest climate rally in history. Be part of this historic event, make your voice heard, and help the president start his second term with strong climate action -- from rejecting the toxic Keystone XL tar sands pipeline to building a clean energy economy. PSR Opposes Push for Hasty Environmental Review Process on Waste Confidence

PSR joined a group of 24 environmental organizations in opposition to an effort by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) to speed up the already rushed NRC Waste Confidence scoping process (pdf). In seeking a hasty report, NEI is attempting to put the industry’s economic agenda ahead of public health and safety.

Compromise on Fiscal Cliff Delays Spending Cuts

A last-minute compromise on the fiscal cliff at the end of 2012 delayed the automatic spending cuts that would have taken effect this month. PSR activists sent thousands of messages to Congress ensuring that cutting Pentagon spending is part of any ultimate decision on our budget. SPSR Participates in AMSA Convention

Student PSR will be represented at the 2013 American Medical Student Association's convention, taking place in Washington, DC, March 14-17th. With over 1000 students from US and international medical schools expected to attend, SPSR will look to both recruit new members and advocate for increased student involvement in climate change and global security issues.
