Maryland Hosts Fracking Conference

Nearly 300 Marylanders gathered to discuss hydraulic fracturing or "fracking," a natural gas extraction process with severe negative consequences for human health and for climate change. PSR executive director Catherine Thomasson, MD joined Poune Saberi, MD (Philadelphia PSR) and others to inform activists, health and climate experts, lawmakers and impacted individuals about the concerns and risks of hydraulic fracturing. PSR Voices in Local Newspapers

PSR's Health Voices for Clean Air fall campaign stressed the need to tackle air pollution, climate change and our dependency on coal. Chapter leader Dr. Robert Little and members Dr. Samantha Ahdoot and Dr. Jack Westman voiced their views in local newspapers on the need to support the EPA's Clean Air Act and uphold its authority to protect our air quality and our health.

Budget Talks Highlight Nuclear Weapons Arsenal

Over the last month, PSR chapters across the country have been working to meet with their elected officials to raise their voices for a responsible budget that reduces our dangerous nuclear weapons arsenal.
